Wheelchairs for Ukraine departed Tokyo port.*

This is the second time for us to send wheelchairs to Ukraine. It was started from an enthusiastic request by Mr. and Mrs. Kimura, Japanese journalists living in London. The desire to help those suffering from the ravages of war has led to this project, a collaboration between three organizations that donate wheelchairs, a shipping company, and a transportation company. (Click here for details)

The three donating organizations are “Wheelchairs of Hope,” “Go! Fly! Wheelchairs” and our NGO. Each group provided wheelchairs as below.
–110 wheelchairs mainly for grown-ups (Wheelchairs of Hope)
–30 wheelchairs mainly for grown-ups (Go! Fly! Wheelchairs)
–10 wheelchairs for children (Our NGO)
150 units in total

The ship loaded with the above wheelchairs left Tokyo port at 18:00 on Monday, February 6, scheduled to arrive at Port of Gdynia, Poland, around March 14, by way of Hamburg, Germany. They are to be delivered to Future for Ukraine Foundation (FFU) and provided for Ukrainians evacuating in Poland or still living in Ukraine.

We would like to continue to offer children’s wheelchairs to Ukraine at the opportunity in the future.

This brings the total number of wheelchairs sent to Ukraine to 22. The graph of donation results is from here.
