Under a clear, blue sky, unlike the heavy rain yesterday, we did refurbishing work(2nd) for Malaysia and Vietnam, and also did tidying up the warehouse replacing lots of wheelchairs with newly-packed ones.
As for refurbishing work, today’s participants were about thirty young Vietnamese, leading members of our monthly meeting now, eight students and a teacher from Fussa High School and about ten volunteers including two Ethiopians, around fifty in total.
The work started at nine in the morning and was over around two p.m. resulting in 60 refurbished wheelchairs, 29 for Malaysia and 31 for Vietnam. We are planning to send them to Malaysia in September and to Vitnam in October.
After the monthly work, several members did tidying up the warehouse so that it would be easy to do refurbishing work next month. The weight of wheelchairs varies from 10 to 25 kilograms, so it was really hard to lift some to the upper shelves and put others down to the floor. It took an hour and a half to replace all the wheelchairs in the warehouse. Thank you, everyone!
