It was in the middle of the consecutive holidays, but with more than thirty participants we could finish refurbishing wheelchairs for Thailand as scheduled and also start working for the next project, for Myanmar.
Refurbishing work went on smoothly as usual, starting with cleaning, then refurbishing, and packing.
The most important in this work is safety for children and durability of wheelchairs, and the refurbishing work was done mainly by experienced members. These days young members such as Vietnamese youths and Sagami Women’s College students are learning from our regular member, Mr. Nishino, professional mechanic.
These young people are joining such work as adjusting brakes, repairing, and exchanging casters and wheels.
With their great help our working efficiency has been improving. Thank you!
Getting down packed wheelchairs from the shelves in the storehouse and preparing for loading them into the container on 22nd.
Ms. Yuki Ookoshi, just graduated from Sagami Women’s College, came over to join the activity. She has her entrance ceremony for new employees coming up in a few days and today was her final day as a student.
Thank you, Ookoshi-san, for your four-year participation in our activity.
